My Daily Oil and Supplement Regimen

In my home, along with healthy eating and exercise, we also incorporate essential oils and supplements each day.  We follow a daily plan for keeping us all nourished, keeping our daily stress to a minimum, and to assist us with reducing the toxic load on our bodies.  I love how doTERRA's Dr. Hill discussed his recommended daily essential oil and supplement routine at the doTERRA Convention last year, and I have incorporated his regimen into our lives.

It is quite interesting to see what he suggests that each person implement into their lives, and why he suggests this particular regimen. Check out the following daily routine suggested by Dr. Hill, and then follow on to see how I have implemented his suggestions into my life.

Dr. Hill’s Daily Routine Quick Guide

Morning

  • Apply 2-3 drops of Balance to the bottom of feet when you wake
  • Frankincense under the tongue.
  • Take 1 PB Assist (probiotics)  with breakfast
  • Life Long Vitality and Terrazyme with Morning Meal

Afternoon

  • Diffuse or apply favorite oil for mood and stress management.
  • Take Life Long Vitality and Terrazyme with afternoon meal.
  • Use Citrus oil in water throughout the day.

Evening

  • Take Life Long Vitality (unless you’ve taken a full dose by this point) and Terrazyme with evening meal.
  • Diffuse OnGuard or take a capsule.

Bed Time

  • Diffuse Favorite oil for Relaxation.
  • Take two Serenity softgels 30 minutes before sleep.
  • Apply Serenity or Cedarwood to bottom of the feet.

Dr. David Hill

Dr. David Hill is the Founding Executive, Chief Medical Officer and Chairman, of the Scientific Advisory Committee for doTERRA.  For many years, Dr. Hill has utilized the benefits of essential oils in modern health practices as a physician, and he is well-known throughout the world as an expert in essential oils and integrative medicine.  

Dr. Hill partners with physicians, scientists, and hospitals around the world, defining and establishing the medical integration and use of essential oils in modern health practices for individual use.  He guides advances in essential oil science through a number of top university and research affiliations, providing more in-depth understanding for essential oils and their use. He is a frequent guest on many radio and televisions shows and has authored a number of books and other publications. Dr. Hill’s greatest joy is found in educating and empowering others and their family to take control of their own health.

Following the Daily Regimen of Dr. Hill

Based on the incredible background of Dr. Hill, and the wealth of knowledge he provides for how to naturally care for yourself, you can see why I find Dr. Hill to be one of the top leaders in how to teach us to care for ourselves through the use of doTERRA essential oils and supplements.  While I read all of his suggestions, I also follow the doTERRA Pyramid of Health, for reaching the best health possible for my family and I.

Those of us in doTERRA have probably seen this health pyramid before. Its the basis for making health decisions and staying on top of our health and preventative care, instead of just caring about our health as a reactionary step, once we are either already sick or at the point of needing a physicians care. Dr. Hill bases his routine off of the health pyramid, so let’s really look into it here.

Eat Right

You can see that the foundation of the pyramid is Eating Right. Our health relies on us putting the best in our bodies. Make sure that you are getting your healthy fats, your proteins, and lots of veggies and fruits. We all know how to eat right – just make little decisions every day that push you in the right direction.

We can also make sure that we are taking a good vitamin. While we know that the most important part is eating all the right foods – we also know that the food we eat today from our local grocer is NOT as nutritious as the food that people ate even just 100 years ago or wildfood that’s gathered.

Here’s an excerpt from a NY Times article in regards to gathered wildfood and its nutrients:

Wild dandelions, once a springtime treat for Native Americans, have seven times more phytonutrients than spinach, which we consider a “superfood.” A purple potato native to Peru has 28 times more cancer-fighting anthocyanins than common russet potatoes. One species of apple has a staggering 100 times more phytonutrients than the Golden Delicious displayed in our supermarkets.

So even with a near perfect diet, we should all be taking a supplement – a good, bioavailable supplement. Many of the vitamins you see on the shelf at the grocery store are synthetically created and your body does not absorb it’s nutrients (at least not much and not well).

Dr. Hill recommends the Life Long Vitality pack from doTERRA because of it’s completeness and it’s bioavailability.

It’s also a good idea to take a daily Probiotic (PB Assist) and Digestive Enzyme (like Terrazymes). These help your body process the foods you are eating. I, myself, take 1-3 Terrazyme at each meal. I’ll take 1 with a salad or a light meal, but I'll take 3 with a burger or a heavier meal.

Exercise

We've all heard many times from trainers, dieticians and nutritionists, that “Health is 80% nutrition and 20% exercise.” If that’s true we need to take that foundational step of “eating right” pretty seriously. But we also need to make sure we get in our regular exercise because otherwise the best we can ever be is 80% of our potential, right? 

So lets get that exercise in!  Whether you go to the gym daily or every other day, or you take a brisk walk daily, or you hike, ride bikes or even swimming, lets just ensure we are getting our daily exercise in.

Before and after exercise use your Deep Blue oil and rub to stimulate your muscles and support healthy joints and muscle function (plus a quick recovery).

Rest & Stress

It’s important that we manage our stress levels and get good rest. Not getting proper rest and stress relief can have a serious impact on our health.  Sleep is just as important for our bodies, as managing our stress is.  As an Adult you should be getting 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep every night. (This may seem impossible for all those parents with tiny babies – but you get the just of the need for sleep). We should be striving for at least this much sleep. If you struggle with resting try using doTERRA’s natural sleep-aids called Serenity Restful Complex. I take two caps every night and I sleep all night through. I also diffuse a restful blend like Serenity or Lavender.

Toxicity

We are exposed to toxins every single day of our lives.  Whether they are in our air, in our food, in our laundry detergents, in our water, in our soaps and shampoos, in our lotions, and even in our toothpaste. We need to help our body rid of all these toxins. Drink a citrus oil in your water every day and throughout the day, as a great way to help detox the body.  Some of the top citrus oils to add to your water include Wild Orange, Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit, Bergamot, or Tangerine!  Onguard is also a great blend to add to your water.  Please remember to always use a glass water bottle, so as to prevent the leaching of any chemicals from a plastic bottle.

Self Care

The last and tip top point of the Health Pyramid is Self Care. When we have every day health issues, instead of running to the doctor, we practice practical self-care.
